Summary:
Vighter is seeking to hire a User Interface / User Experience (UI/UX) Designer in San Antonio, TX., responsible for creating the user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) of digital products, such as websites, applications, or software. Their goal is to make products that are visually appealing, easy to use, and effective in solving user problems. The job combines design, psychology, technology, and business to ensure that users have a seamless, intuitive experience with a product The UI/UX Designer identifies new opportunities to create better user experiences. Aesthetically pleasing branding strategies help them effectively reach more customers. The UI/UX Designer will create both functional and appealing features that address the Company's current needs.
Principle Accountabilities:
Conducting user research through methods such as surveys, interviews, usability testing, and user feedback analysis. Identifying user needs and pain points by analyzing behaviors and understanding the goals of the target audience. Creating user personas to represent key segments of users and to guide design decisions. Conducting competitor analysis to understand market trends and design standards. Creating wireframes (low-fidelity mockups) to visualize basic structure of a product or feature. Building interactive prototypes to demonstrate functionality and interactions before development begins. Using tools like Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or InVision to design wireframes and prototypes that communicate design ideas effectively. Testing prototypes with users to gather feedback and iterate on design concepts. Designing the visual elements of the interface, including buttons, icons, typography, colors, and layouts. Creating high-fidelity designs that provide a polished, final representation of the product's interface. Ensuring brand consistency across the design by following style guides and adhering to brand guidelines. Designing responsive interfaces that provide a seamless experience across different devices (e.g., mobile, tablet, desktop). Mapping user journeys to ensure smooth navigation and a positive experience for users from start to finish. Improving usability by conducting usability testing to find pain points and iterating designs based on findings. Optimizing information architecture to ensure the content is organized logically and easy for users to navigate. Designing intuitive interactions and micro-interactions (e.g., hover effects, animations) that guide users through tasks efficiently. Collaborating with product managers, developers, and business stakeholders to ensure design solutions align with business goals and technical feasibility. Working closely with front-end developers to ensure design implementation is accurate and consistent with the original vision. Participating in design reviews and brainstorming sessions to share ideas and get feedback from team members. Communicating design rationale to non-design stakeholders, helping them understand the "why" behind design decisions. Conducting usability tests to observe how users interact with the product and identify areas for improvement. Collecting user feedback through various testing methods like A/B testing, eye-tracking, heatmaps, or direct user observations. Analyzing test results to identify patterns or issues that need to be addressed. Iterating on designs based on feedback and testing, continuously refining the product to enhance user satisfaction. Creating and maintaining a design system to ensure consistency across product designs and streamline the development process. Developing reusable components such as buttons, form fields, and navigation elements. Creating style guides that define typography, color schemes, and UI components, ensuring a cohesive look and feel. Ensuring designs are accessible to users with disabilities, adhering to accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG) and guidelines. Designing for inclusivity by considering factors such as color blindness, screen readers, and keyboard navigation. Conducting accessibility audits and dev eloper collaboration to address accessibility issues. Tracking user engagement and behavior using analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Hotjar) to identify issues or opportunities for improving the UX. Evaluating design performance based on user feedback, usage metrics, and business outcomes (e.g., conversion rates, user retention). Making data-driven decisions to inform design iterations and product improvements. Researching emerging design trends, tools, and technologies to stay ahead of industry standards and ensure the product's designs are modern and competitive. Attending conferences, workshops and design meetups to enhance skills and connect with the design community. Learning about new software and tools (e.g., new prototyping or animation software) to improve productivity and creativity. Documenting design decisions to ensure clarity and transparency, and to guide future design iterations or teams. Preparing design specifications (e.g., design assets, UI guidelines) for handoff to developers. Collaborating with developers during the implementation phase to ensure the final product matches the design vision and user expectations. Presenting design concepts and solutions to clients or internal stakeholders, explaining the design process, reasoning, and how it solves user problems. Handling feedback and revisions professionally, incorporating changes and ensuring client or stakeholder expectations are met. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field is required.Qualifications:
Minimum of three (3) years of experience in User Interface/User Experience design and development. UI Design Tools: Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, InVision, Zeplin. Prototyping: Marvel, Proto.io, Principle, Framer. User Research: UserTesting, Optimal Workshop, Hotjar, SurveyMonkey. Design Systems: Storybook, Zeroheight. Wireframing: Balsamiq, Moqups. Collaboration & Handoff: Slack, Jira, Confluence, Miro, Notion. Analytics & Testing: Google Analytics, Mixpanel, Crazy Egg, UsabilityHub. Front-end Knowledge: Basic understanding of HTML/CSS, JavaScript (for better collaboration with developers). Accessibility Standards: WCAG guidelines, Color Contrast tools.Duty Hours / On-call Requirements:
Generally speaking, the corporate office is open 8 a.m.-5 p.m.; however, during times of rapid mobilization, hours may be extended to include days, nights, weekends and holidays.
