Department Summary:

The N921 Command Priorities Department, part of the National and Defense Intelligence Division, helps the Combatant Command Intelligence Directorates (J2) mitigate critical gaps and shortfalls, identify relevant emerging technologies, and create advanced solutions to address mission challenges.

Roles & Responsibilities:

In this role, you will serve as a Lead systems engineer, working to resolve the most difficult mission challenges faced by the USINDOPACOM J2’s military and civilian staff.  You will serve as a member of a team of MITRE professionals focused identifying new technology and assisting in the improvement of existing intelligence capabilities of the USINDOPACOM J2 and Joint Intelligence Operations Center (JIOC). Additionally, you will work to ensure the command intelligence enterprise is fully interoperable to support the mission, including partner capability integration. You will be assigned in direct support of the USINDOPACOM J2 Chief Technology Officer (CTO) / Joint Hard Targets (JHT) Program Manager, supporting efforts to evolve the intelligence baseline and modernize intelligence tools and tradecraft. Responsibilities will include:

Advise and assist with the planning and execution of JHT initiatives, reviewing and summarizing advanced analytics and pattern of life proposals submitted against USINDOPACOM J2 analytic requirements, and development and management of program evaluations and plansPerform capabilities-based assessments of proposed solutions to JHT initiatives and requirementsEnsure the analytic modernization, advanced analytics and pattern of life teams are aligned with JHT requirements and USINDOPACOM J2/JIOC capabilitiesFacilitate systems integration of specialized JHT programs (such as AI/ML tools) within the USINDOPACOM J2 enterpriseEstablish and monitor program procedures for data collection, multi-source intelligence data integration, and annotation of requirements processesFacilitate technology transfer, provide technical coordination, and develop program requirements for Statements of WorkEngage in consistent, responsive, and detailed communications with your MITRE J2 project leader, group leader, and N921 leadership, ensuring clear awareness of your efforts across the J2 Deliver impactful solutions to specific tasks as defined by the J2’s Chief Technology Officer, our onsite project lead, and N921 department leadership

Basic Qualifications:

Active TS/SCI clearance with ability to obtain/maintain PolygraphTypically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 3 years’ experience; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.A strong understanding of intelligence support to the warfighter, the organizations of the Intelligence community, and their responsibilities in support of intelligence collection, analysis, processing, and disseminationStrong organization skills with the ability to collaborate across a broad range of units in a fast-paced environmentThis position has an on-site requirement of 5 days a week on-site

Preferred Qualifications:

A clear understanding of the USINDOPACOM mission and related intelligence activitiesExperience directly supporting and operating independently for a sponsorMaster’s degree in operations research or systems engineering (or related science, technology, engineering, or math field)Strong knowledge of intelligence processes and systems in use or relied upon by a Combatant Command J2Experience with systems, tools, datasets, architecture, and/or processes involved in intelligence productionDemonstrated proficiency and strength in verbal, written, presentation, and communications skills

As part of MITRE’s Push to the Pacific initiative, employees hired to this requisition may be eligible to participate in a Hawaii Rotational Incentive program.  For specific positions with high demand and difficult to fill skill sets, MITRE is proud to offer selected staff the opportunity to receive a 15% lump sum payment each year, for up to 3 years. The above figures are based on current base salary upon selection to the Hawaii Rotational Program, less tax withholding and other applicable deductions.

$138,500 - $173,000 - $207,500 Annual
