The successful candidate will possess knowledge and experience in Combatant Command (CCMD) or Major Command (MAJCOM) training, operations, intelligence and planning activities. strong candidates will have an established record demonstrating an ability to work largely unsupervised. an ability to interact appropriately with all levels of the staff, from action officers to executive leaders is required.
Responsibilities:
Must be comfortable and skilled at briefing executive leaders Demonstrate an ability to work largely unsupervised Absorb large amounts of two-way information between stakeholders Prioritize and summarize important details into easily consumable data and further pass data back to leadership as appropriate. Must be able to prioritize critical tasks rapidly and correctly, with absolute minimal supervision.Required Skills and Experience:
A bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 15 years’ experience working DOD acquisitions or operations (or equivalent experience) is required 15+ year experience within the CCMD or MAJCOM worlds High motivation, creativity, and flexibility to work in a dynamic environment Ability to work with minimal supervision Excellent written and oral communication skills, especially when communicating technical information to audiences with varying backgrounds Superior presentation and briefing development skills Understanding of military operations US citizenship Must have a current/active TS/SCI clearance.Preferred Skills and Experience:
Master’s degree and advanced Professional Military Education (PME) Experience in the Joint Planning Process (JPP) or experience in a CCMD J5 highly desired Experience in organizations that use non-standard acquisition process is desired. Experience in organizations that use non-standard acquisition process (e.g., outside the Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System (JCIDS) processes) is desired. Experience in the Joint Planning Process (JPP) or experience in a CCMD J5 highly desired. Experience in one or more of USSPACECOM’s core missions highly preferred Be an active change agent, championing LEO-based operations on behalf of the Joint Force, other DoD partner agencies, and Partner Nations. Experience serving in operations centers in a Joint capacity is preferred Familiarity with USSPACECOM regarding space operations, the USSPACECOM– NORAD -USNORTHCOM relationship, as well as the relationship between USSPACECOM and its major subcomponents preferred
Compensation: Starting salary ranges from $170,000-$190,000 depending on relevant experience and qualifications.
