The Team Manager plays a vital role in ensuring smooth operations for the team both on and off the ice. The responsibilities span game day operations, event coordination, communication, and community outreach. The manager works closely with the Club Sports Coordinator, team officers, and the coaching staff to support the team’s overall needs.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

Attendance: It is required to attend all games, practices, and team events, as well as photoshoots and other scheduled activities.Coordination & Communication: The manager serves as the main liaison between the coaching staff, players, rink employees, and Campus Recreation, ensuring smooth communication and handling team-related logistics such as merchandise, marketing, and game day operations.Supervision: On game days, the manager oversees two Merchandise student workers and Facility Attendants, ensuring smooth operations and resolving issues as they arise.Promotions: The manager is in charge of coordinating game promotions, both during games and in the community, helping to elevate the team’s visibility and engagement.

Game Day & Special Events:

Oversee all game day operations, including managing the cash box, credit card readers, deposit slips, and merchandise revenue.Ensure general security, resolve fan or team-related issues, and coordinate game day events such as intermission games, promotional activities, post-game skates, and autographs.Set up ticket sales and merchandise areas, assist with maintaining the coach’s office, and foster a positive relationship with rink employees.

Pre-Game/Event Preparation:

Prepare for games by gathering necessary materials (e.g., card readers, cash, paperwork).Organize marketing efforts such as creating and distributing flyers, yard signs, and posters, managing social media, and scheduling player appearances at events.Help coordinate special events like the homecoming parade and charity events, and ensure the team’s visibility on campus and in the community.Support the coach and players with merchandise orders, locker room maintenance, and uniform designs, while fostering strong community relationships through outreach events. Advertised Salary $9.00 per hour ADA

This position requires moderate physical activity. Employees must have sufficient strength to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position including moderate lifting (up to 50 pounds), walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, and squatting.  This position requires nearly continuous standing, repetitive hand motions, and reaching overhead.  Employees may be exposed to unusual elements including extreme temperatures, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
