**Job Summary**
Clerical/Technician position to assist with the completion and processing of computer service related paperwork. Other duties include assisting with computer repair and upgrades, some customer service support and vendor contact. Previous computer hardware/software troubleshooting experience preferred.
**Responsibilities**
Performs routine upgrades and board level repairs as required on computer products supported by the University Campus Store. Provides technical assistance to the Computer Solutions Department staff and to the general University community as directed. Troubleshoots and determines disposition of defective products. Prepare and control products returned to vendors for repair, replacement, refund or credit. 20 hour work week with a varied work schedule to accommodate store hours which includes some Saturdays, occasional Sundays and holidays.
**Minimum Qualifications**
Must be a current University of Utah student.
This is an entry-level position. Training will be provided. Demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills and the ability to pass a security clearance is required. Some positions require a minimum of six months cashiering experience.
**Preferences**
Must have demonstrated human relations skills and be able to work independently. Preferences include: thorough working knowledge of Apple Computers, PC or equivalent component products. A strong commitment to the concepts of customer service is expected from the selected applicant.
