Pineland Farms is one of the largest food manufacturing organizations located in Aroostook County. Our Mars Hill facility has over 200 incredible team members who work together to provide our customers with the best possible potato product. Responsibilities JOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible for operation, general maintenance, and repair and troubleshooting of the high pressure boiler in the food processing plant. Additional duties include operating an ammonia refrigeration system. This position has the responsibility to comply with Safety work rules at all times as well as an obligation to reinforce Safety as a Core Value. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Monitor/operate compressed air system(s) 2. Monitor incoming water: well and town 3. Complete security checks of all doors each shift 4. Monitor fire systems 5. Participate in and adhere to all HazMat, Confined Space and LOTO trainings 6. This position is required to be part of the Emergency Response Team. A respirator fit test is necessary. 7. Working in high height environments is routinely part of the position Qualifications Qualifications : To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. A respirator fit test is necessary. Education and/or Experience : 1. Maine boiler operator’s license, preferred 4th class SSE or higher 2. 2-3 years’ experience in a food processing environment 3. Ability to maintain accurate records 4. Ability to perform maintenance on boilers and affiliated equipment, pipe fitting skills helpful 5. Basic knowledge of refrigeration systems Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Mathematical Skills: Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Reasoning Ability : Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Computer Skills : To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database software; Inventory software; Manufacturing software; Order processing systems; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
