Kimley-Horn is looking for a Construction Engineering Inspector to assist Engineers with the completion of construction projects in our Ocala, FL office. 

Responsibilities Manage construction phase services including contract administration and construction monitoring from pre-construction through project closeout consisting of municipal/private utility type projects.Construction administration responsibilities include client coordination, response to RFI’s, processing of change orders, shop drawing review, construction schedule and approval of contractor pay applicationsMonitor single or multiple site construction activities for conformance with project plans and specificationsPrepare field reports and photos of construction activities and site investigationsTroubleshoot construction issues providing alternative solutions and value engineering in collaboration with engineering staffReview bid documents and technical specificationsPerform Constructability ReviewsReview or help put together Engineer Estimates for design projects going out for bidReview bids on projectsHelp evaluate and review bids and contractorsMay provide construction observation training and mentoring of junior engineering staffMay conduct meetings with clients and contractorsAssist engineers with project permitting including permit applications and certifications Qualifications High school degree/equivalent Construction Superintendent / Foreman experience orengineering inspection experienceStrong understanding of municipal specifications, governmental agencies (FDOT) specifications, details, and practicesMust be able to read plans and specificaitonsStrong understanding of construction site safety practicesMust communicate wellMust have a working knowledge of Word and ExcelWilling to travel within the state of FL Why Kimley-Horn?
