CHA Consulting, Inc. is currently seeking a Utilities Coordinator to join our Infrastructure – Transportation Utilities Team at our office in Columbia, SC.

At CHA, the Utilities Coordinator plays a vital role in identifying, communicating, and resolving utility conflicts on multiple transportation and roadway projects. This position ensures that projects are completed in a timely and cost-effective manner, meeting client, contractual, and company requirements. The Utilities Coordinator works closely with both the CHA team and client contacts to develop and maintain accurate records, coordinate with utility companies to obtain, review, and maintain utility-specific documentation, and support cost documentation and reimbursements. In this role, the Utilities Coordinator reviews utility design plans for compliance with applicable requirements and evaluates feasible alternatives for mitigation. They prepare and update utility reports and data, develop and maintain project dashboards, and prepare specifications and contract documents. This individual performs complex assignments, exercises judgment in the evaluation, selection, and modification of standard engineering techniques and procedures, and makes significant design decisions as needed. Additionally, the Utilities Coordinator participates in project coordination meetings and functions as a Technical Specialist or Project Manager on mid-size projects.

REQUIREMENTS A bachelor's degree in Engineering, Urban Planning, or a related field is required.Minimum 6 years of related experience required.Must be able to read and understand various contractual documents, including deeds, engineering plans, sub-contractor proposals, reimbursement agreements, and occupancy and use agreements.Familiarity with the Transportation/Roadway/Utility Industry is essential; experience with SCDOT is preferred.Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook, is required; experience with Microstation is a plus.Ability to read and comprehend civil transportation engineering design plans is necessary.Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, along with excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, scheduling, and problem-solving abilities are required for this position. SALARY RANGE:$70,000 - $85,000
Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
