Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Utilities Engineer to join our team!

In this role you will work with assessment teams to ensure continuity to DoD missions and critical infrastructure by assessing the vulnerabilities and survivability of these infrastructure against a broad spectrum of threats including accidents, natural disasters, technological failure, information system attacks, terrorists, radio frequency weapons (RFW), sabotage, and weapons of mass destruction (WMD).

The Utilities Engineer will have experience in one or more of the following:

Electrical power consists of various subsystems including commercial power, backup power generation, power distribution, and uninterruptible power.

Environmental control consists of subsystems including refrigerated cooling, heating, humidity control, and waste heat removal.

Life support consists of subsystems including fresh air ventilation, potable water, food, and sewage.

Ancillary subsystems providing support to operational utility equipment include fuel, compressed air, vacuum, filtration, and specialized utilities, such as cryogenics (e.g., liquid nitrogen [LN] and liquid oxygen [LOX]).

What You'll Be Doing:

Reviewing and assessing the utilities supporting the customer’s missions, and any facilities and organizations that support them, using a consistent and repeatable methodology as an integral part of process.

Identifies all aspects of utility-related vulnerabilities, increases the customer’s awareness of potential vulnerabilities and impacts of utilities on mission execution capability, and provides recommendations to mitigate or eliminate identified vulnerabilities.

Provide service support to operational equipment, personnel, and mission operations.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical, electrical, nuclear, or marine engineering; and operational experience from the U.S. Navy Nuclear Power Program, the U.S. Army Prime Power Program, or equivalent industry utilities experience.

6+ years of experience

Must have a Valid Passport

Must have an Active Top Secret Clearance with SCI Eligibility

Must be able to travel internationally up to 20%

Position is hybrid and local to Fort Belvoir, but number of in-office days to change based on mission needs. We strive to maintain a supportive and adaptable work environment for all team members.


What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

PE Certification preferred, but not required

Ability to accept worldwide deployments which include high threat permissive areas presenting some risks to personal safety.

Ability to Adhere to CDC recommended immunizations for worldwide travel.

Possess effective oral and written communication skills.

Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

Ability to prepare written reports, white papers, and PowerPoint presentations.

Be capable of operating in all operational and physical environments and work collaboratively with USG military and/or civilian personnel.

Knowledgeable in risk management processes such as the All-Hazards Threat Assessment (AHTA) and capability assessment methodology.

Highly organized, able to work independently and without supervision.

Work as a team with other subject matter experts to prepare for, execute, and finalize the assessment process.

Communicate effectively and engage with mid to senior-level civilian, military, or Subcontractor personnel.

Salary Range: 

$83,300.00 - $168,700.00
