Position Overview

Kiewit Infrastructure Engineers (KIE) is looking for a Utility Engineer to join our growing group. This role is located in Lone Tree, CO, with the opportunity for flexible work. This opportunity will support project pursuits and awarded projects by coordinating and managing Utility Design and SUE on a variety of Kiewit’s largest projects. The utilities team is integral to the pursuit, engineering and construction project team to ensure we provide the best service possible to each client.

Our work includes but is not limited to: water, sewer, gas, petroleum, electric transmission & distribution (aerial and underground), telecom fiber & copper (aerial and underground) and interfaces regularly with Civil Engineering disciplines such as roadway, drainage and structures.

District Overview

Kiewit Infrastructure Engineering's Design Build Management team are driving clients to turn to Kiewit during all stages of design-build projects to manage their multi-disciplined design teams to improve schedule, control costs, and minimize risk. Our construction-driven engineers analyze root causes and resolve design issues before they impact schedule and budget. Particularly on large design-build projects, clients benefit from the proven processes and tools used by Kiewit to minimize project risk. We are an in-house resource that supports projects throughout the company. Our staff shares experiences gained, innovative concepts, and design best practices for all projects that we support.

Location

This position is based out of our Lone Tree, CO offices.

Responsibilities Perform utility relocation conflict analysis on large infrastructure projects Performing engineering tasks requiring standard techniques and handling minor problems of a technical nature arising during construction Participating in project meetings Reading and interpreting contract documents, identifying risks, and recommending mitigation techniques Create and manage file structures for design working files, deliverables, and reference documents  Investigating problems and/or reported incidents; identifying and recommending solutions/alternatives as appropriate Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or similar required. 
• 0-2 year minimum relevant experience utilities design, infrastructure engineering and/or design-build. 
• Travel < 25% expected.
• Receives direction from more experienced engineer.
• Adjusts to varying demands of work and performs well.
• Communicates effectively orally and in writing.  Present ideas clearly and in professional manner.
• Participates on teams effectively. Accepts direction from the team. Individually contributes to success of the team.
• Develops cooperative working relationships and open communication within and across groups, to work towards solutions that benefit all involved parties.  Seeks expertise, advice and perspectives from a variety of sources.
• Consults with senior team members to receive direction for internal customers.
• Able to manage responsibilities and meet deadlines under supervision.

Base Compensation: $87,000/yr - $91,000/yr 
(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
