Utilities Laborer
Under general direction of the Foreman, performs a variety of unskilled duties in the boiler house, waste treatment and water treatment buildings. Handles chemicals, shovels sand in waste treatment sand beds, grading by small tractor and by hand. Softens water, digs ditches and excavations for water main breaks, sewer work; cleans sewers and manholes. May operate and clean industrial types of mechanical equipment such as scrubbing machines, buffers and pickup machines. Assists maintenance mechanics in the performances of various unskilled labor tasks. Performs miscellaneous related duties as assigned. **Position Requirements** Under general direction of the Foreman, performs a variety of unskilled duties in the boiler house, waste treatment and water treatment buildings, and utility distribution systems. The Utilities Laborer must be willing to train for and accept temporary assignments to Auxiliary Equipment Operator and Waste/Water Treatment Operator duties, which may include rotating shift work and working outdoors. With training potential for advancement is likely. + **Regular shift is Monday-Friday, 7am-3:30pm.
