Utilities Manager

Johnson Johnson is currently seeking a Utilities Manager to join our MAKE Asset Management Organization located in US Large Molecule Drug Substance Site located in Wilson, North Carolina. This role will support a new site startup, as such it may require periods of heightened travel to support these activities. This travel would be during thesite ramp up period and dependent on functional needs and project timelines (in some cases frequent travel and or short terms stays with vendors, sister companies, partners).

While this role will ultimately support the site operations located in Wilson NC, this role will also be required to support the project phase across both design construction. For the project design phase, the role will require you to be present with our design teams in the Greater Philadelphia region. Once the design phase is completed, this role will support the construction and operational start-up of the site. For this, you will be required to be on site in Wilson, NC. Based on your current location the hiring team will work with you to determine travel and relocation arrangements. In steady state, we expect travel to be less than 25%.

Position Summary:

The MAM (MAKE Asset Management) organization operates as one integrated team in the delivery of Engineering, Maintenance and Execution Systems solutions. We operate in a standard, coordinated and consistent manner in support of the current and future requirements of our Manufacturing and Manufacturing Science and Technology (MSAT) and in partnership with key internal/external network.

The Utilities Manager reports to the Maintenance Senior Manager and is responsible for the manufacturing engineering operations of the organization. Own, operate and maintain all site Utilities (Clean and Black) infrastructure assets, acting as site SME for all operational, maintenance and project related scope.

Key Responsibilities:

Responsible for planning, designing and implementing maintenance programs to optimize the availability and productivity of manufacturing facilities and equipment.Plans and coordinates maintenance engineering work including review of mechanical and electrical engineering specifications.Performs engineering review of proposed new equipment designs to assess reliability, ease of maintenance and availability of replacement parts.Liaises with production staff to coordinate repair work, statutory safety inspections and supply of new plant and equipment with production schedules.Manages a team of individual contributors and multi craft Maintenance Technicians, and is accountable for conducting effective performance management.Develops tactical and operational plans for the Maintenance team and supports organizational objectives and business goals by optimizing the productivity and reliability of manufacturing facilities and equipment.Allocates resources to meet objectives and goals of the Maintenance area and monitors project plans to ensure on-time production schedules.Directs operations for strategic initiatives, maintenance programs, and repair projects and serves as a primary point of contact for internal stakeholders.Collaborates in the production of risk assessments regarding the integration and utilization of new equipment and machinery by conducting engineering reviews of proposed equipment to assess reliability, maintenance costs, and identifying "unknown" safety risks.Ensures compliance of engineering repair projects with health and safety regulations in order to achieve the organization's goals and objectives for the Maintenance function.Responsible for managing operational aspects of their team (e.g., workflow, performance, and compliance), as well as ensuring achievement of team goals within established timelines and budgets.Supports and/or leads root cause analysis and implementation of robust solutions to downtime issues.Maintains a consistent workflow and productivity of the team, and proactively identifies and resolves operational issues and concerns.Coaches less experienced staff, recommending plans for continual improvement, and consistently evaluates individual and team performance against operational goals.Creates and maintains a training program to ensure the team is up to date with the Utilities technology and industry trends.Develops operating procedures for utilities.Develops and executes maintenance procedures, preventive and corrective maintenance, and equipment files for the utility equipment (GMP and non GMP).Identifies appropriate spare parts to ensure maximum availability of equipment.Evaluates equipment reliability to identify trends and maximize equipment uptime.Creation and management of appropriate maintenance contracts.Manages/Leads shutdown program.

Preferred:

· People management experience.

· Project Management experience.

· Literacy in computer operating systems and applications, including SAP.

· FPX certification and/or Six Sigma and/or Lean experience.

· Experience in green or brown field GMP MFG facility start-up including process systems, automation, utilities, facilities, and operations.
