Utilities Planner/Reliability Specialist

The Utilities Planner/Reliability Specialist will be responsible for planning, estimating and scheduling work to be performed by the Utilities Staff and will be the Utilities Administrator for the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) system.  The Planner/Scheduler will ensure that work is performed in an efficient and quality manner and that the PM program is continuously assessed and improved.

Essential Duties and Key Responsibilities:

Develops and oversees execution of an effective routine preventive maintenance program.Leads efforts to improve the efficiency and reliability of the utility supply to the production lines.Responsible for ordering parts and managing contractor work for utilities and facilities.Interface with Utilities staff, Storeroom Supervisor, and Production staff to plan, estimate, and schedule maintenance work with minimal impact on production activities to include estimating labor and material requirements, work instructions and safety permits for corrective and preventive maintenance.Manage work order backlogs and ensure preventive and corrective maintenance work orders are completed in a timely manner.Analyzes unplanned work requests and parts usage to drive optimization of the overall PM program.Proactively builds parts/material ready kits needed for technicians to execute the planned and scheduled work. Reviews and prioritizes Work requests.Supports troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical problems.Generates maintenance reports from the CMMS system as required.Enter/maintain equipment, locations, spare part BOM’s and PM task lists in CMMS system as required.Supports execution of planned work as needed.All other duties as Assigned

Qualifications: 

Must have a minimum of an Associate degree, or equivalent, in a trades related field. Experience in executing, scheduling and planning of Preventive Maintenance using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Experience with utility systems such as air compressors, water systems (RO, Soft, Domestic), HVAC, Chillers, and Boilers. Knowledge of mechanical power transfer systems such as gear reducers, chain/belt drives, direct drives, bearings, shafts and couplingsKnowledge of 480-volt 3 phase power distribution such as transformers, Motor Control Centers, power panelsKnowledge of 120 and 24-volt discrete control and 4-20mA analog control systemsKnowledge and experience with pneumatic operated control valve actuators and solenoid devicesGeneral understanding of building repair methods: carpentry, painting and drywall Proven ability to communicate effectively, (written and verbally) with peers, management, contractors and vendors.Must be familiar with the application and operation of all basic maintenance tools and equipment used by various trades groups.Applied knowledge of maintenance practices/processes including electrical and mechanical systems with production/manufacturing equipment.Ability to read, interpret and work from blueprints, schematics, diagrams, etc.PC skills to include CMMS and Microsoft applications (word, excel, outlook, etc.…).Demonstrate a very high sense of urgency.Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Strong Organizational and Technical SkillsExperience with Reliability Centered Maintenance, TPM and Continuous Improvement experience preferred.Must work well in a team environment and have strong communication skillsMust be extremely organized and have experience managing a PM programPassion for troubleshooting and developing technicians’ skillsExperience driving accountability with vendors and contractors

Must be able to physically perform the functions of climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motionsMust be able to work seated using a computer and phone for long periods of time.Must be able to work extended hours, such as daily overtime and weekendsMust possess visual acuity to document company recordsContinuous walking throughout plant and distribution center.Lifting up to 40 pounds
