Utility Compliance Coordinator

Sarasota County Government is looking for a Utility Compliance Coordinator to perform professional duties such as conducting investigations, overseeing compliance, and enforcing department-managed codes and ordinances. Apply now! + Collect and compile monthly operating reports from water and wastewater treatment facilities and submit to regulatory agencies; EPA, FDEP, and SWFWMD. + Act as liaison to regulatory agencies. + Review and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual operating reports and discharge monitoring reports for noncompliance entries, statistically valid entries, sufficient justification of unusual entries and notations for reportable events. + Compose and issue cover letters of explanation of unusual entries. + Review data to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. + Seek solutions to and resolve data problems. + Review and trend data utilizing spreadsheets and graphics to detect patterns in historical data to forecast future process operations. + Prepare responses to compliance letters resulting from facility inspections. + Collect and assemble data for other regulatory reports such as annual sludge reports, monitoring well analyses, operating + protocols, and departmental reports such as productivity reports for water, wastewater, and vector attraction reduction efficiency. + Prepare annual sludge hauling letters. + Coordinate large projects involving staff from different departments. About the Schedule Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. About You Minimum Qualifications: + Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in biological or physical sciences, environmental engineering (or related field) AND three (3) years of professional experience. + -OR- Master's degree from an accredited college or university in biological or physical sciences, environmental engineering (or related field) AND two (2) years of professional experience. + -OR- Progressively responsible professional experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required college degree. + Valid Florida Driver's License at the date of hire.
