Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Utility Coordinator to be based in Florida. This position will be supporting infrastructure projects throughout the State of Florida. Preferred locations include Tampa, Orlando, Lakeland, Jacksonville, Fort Myers, West Palm Beach, Tallahassee, or West Palm Beach.

The UC will coordinate utility work between various clients (FDOT/County/Private), contractors and third-party utilities.  Develops, builds, and maintains a positive and productive relationship with third-party utilities. Works with the client to establish priorities, monitor progress and ensure compliance with the client’s goals and requirements. Participate in utility and roadway meetings to promote issue resolution, prepare status reports, develop and maintain project tracking systems for issues and resolutions, and address utility or roadway needs in a timely manner.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities will include the administration of all aspects of the utility coordination process including:

Providing utility coordination services for multiple projects with tight design and or construction schedules throughout the stateActing as liaison between engineers, contractors, governmental agencies, UAOs, and the public to resolve utility conflictsOversee and provide guidance to utility coordinators and design consultants for utility, roadway, and railroad coordination effortsCoordinate with FDOT roadway design, right-of-way, survey, construction, and maintenance departmentsCoordinating with FDOT in preparing Utility Work by Highway Contractor packages (UWHCA)Conducting utility coordination meetings, documenting meeting minutes, and maintaining files of all activities for each utility agencyScheduling and attend office, field, and Teams meetings with utility agency ownersPerforming follow -up of meeting action items to assure effective coordination resultsCommunicating the status of coordination activities via emails, letters, and telephone to keep project team informedClearly and effectively communicate both verbally and in writingLeading and assisting with preparation of contingency plans for unplanned utility eventsProviding schedule oversight for utility work integrated with the construction scheduleReview FDOT utility permit applications and plansNegotiate design consultant scope and staff hours

Qualifications

Minimum:

BA/BS plus 4 years of utility coordination or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or educationKnowledge of utility and roadway construction for the installation or relocation of underground and overhead utilities.

Preferred:

Experience performing utility coordination in accordance with FDOT, FHWA, and AASHTO standards, policies, and procedures.Knowledge and experience reviewing and understanding Utility Agency/Owner (UAO) design documents, utility specifications, and utility work schedules.Proficient and experienced in reading FDOT Roadway Plans, FDOT Utility Adjustment Plans, and UAO Construction Plans for water, sewer, gas, communications, and power.Knowledge and experience with FDOT right-of-way and easement requirements related to railroads and utilities.Knowledge and experience of the FDOT plans production process and utility coordination process.Experience with Microsoft Office applicaitons.Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation ORD/SS10, Bluebeam, FDOT PSEE, Adobe Acrobat
