Job Title: DrafterJob Description The Drafter will support the Power Delivery Substation Department projects. The role involves performing and directing others in the detailed design of medium to extra high voltage utility substations. This includes creating one-line diagrams, elementary and wiring diagrams, SCADA, communications, conduit and cable sizing/routing, substation physical layouts, selecting substation equipment, writing equipment specifications, developing proposals, estimating construction costs, and project scheduling. The Drafter will also be responsible for document control and creating detailed drawings from Excel Energy. Responsibilities + Perform detailed design of medium to extra high voltage utility substations + Create one-line diagrams, elementary and wiring diagrams, SCADA, and communications layouts + Size and route conduits and cables + Develop substation physical layouts + Select appropriate substation equipment + Write substation equipment specifications + Develop proposals and construction cost estimates + Schedule projects + Support document control and create detailed drawings from Excel Energy Essential Skills + Proficiency in AutoCAD + Experience in power engineering + Expertise in drafting and civil design + Knowledge of substation design and electrical CAD + Strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills Additional Skills & Qualifications + Associates Degree in Drafting and Design + Experience in designing 15kV through 345kV substations + Familiarity with IEEE/ANSI standards + Experience managing project teams of 3 or more people + Experience acting as project engineer for multiple concurrent projects Work Environment The position follows a hybrid model, requiring a minimum of 2 days per week in the office, with a preference for 4 days. Employees enjoy 2 weeks of PTO and 6 holidays. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
