POSITION PURPOSE: The Utility Engineer’s primary responsibility is to perform general work as assigned by the Chief Engineer or Lead mobile Engineer per the scope of work associated with the contract between Veolia and our customer. This position is attached to the Collective Bargaining Agreement between Veolia and the International Union of Operating Engineers – Local 39.
PRIMARY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
Changing of air filters in spaces where no fans or machinery are in operation.General cleaning of engineering spaces.Cleaning and painting of no-operating mechanical equipment, which has been shut down, locked out and tagged by a Journeyman Engineer.Perform general laborer work such as loading, unloading and moving materials, and running errands for the Engineering Department.Lamp replacement and cleaning of fixtures. This does not include repair or replacement of fixtures, electric cords, outlets or ballasts.Furniture moving, modular systems breakdown and set-up.Preventative Maintenance in all restrooms.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT
Lift heavy equipment and carry materials up and down stairs with the capacity of lifting about 50 pounds.Hear and understand audible alarms, detect changes in noise levels of rotating equipment and portable radio communication.Occasional stooping, bending, or kneeling and entering confined spaces.Constantly uses hands to finger, handle or feel and frequently reaches with hands and arms. Works in various positions; works on ladders, catwalks, and supports at heights of 50 feet above the ground; and works with hands extended above and below head and body. Typically spends 25 – 35% of time exposed to outdoor and sometimes inclement weather.Qualifications

High school diploma or GED equivalent.
