Utility Inspector

Job Description

We are seeking a Utility Inspector to replace lead service lines with copper ones. The role involves inspecting water mains and other structures, documenting inspection results, monitoring construction progress, and ensuring compliance with guidelines and regulations.

ResponsibilitiesInspect water mains and other structures to ascertain structural soundness, safety, and compliance with codes and regulations.Document inspection results, noting any deterioration, structural condition, deficiencies, and needed sampling.Monitor progress and contribute to construction reports and project status reports.Oversee and coordinate construction-related services on projects.Conduct on-site investigations and review relevant data including maps, reports, tests, and drawings.Comply with guidelines and regulations, including permits and safety standards, and deliver technical files and documentation as required.Essential SkillsOSHA 10 certificationStrong communication skills for daily interaction with clientsBilingual in Spanish1+ years of construction experienceBachelor's degree in civil engineeringAdditional Skills & QualificationsHigh School Diploma5 years of relevant construction experienceTechnical proficiency and design application knowledgeUnderstanding of the construction process for large commercial, municipal, or federal projectsStrong organizational skillsExcellent attention to detailComfortable working with computers, tablets, and phonesStrong writing and oral communication skillsGood interpersonal skills to build relationships with colleagues, customers, and partnersWork Environment

This role involves canvassing and surveying areas, using a mobile app on a tablet for guidance, inspecting pipes, and taking photos. The work is conducted at project sites in Woodbridge, NJ. Standard hours are 8:30 am - 5:30 pm, with opportunities for overtime pay. A vehicle is required, and mileage will be reimbursed.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
