Role description:
Arcadis Professional Services Canada, Inc. (APSCI) seeks a full-time Utility Locate Technician (ULT) that will be responsible for the collection and management of utility locate field data, coordination of Ontario One Call public locates and preparation of property reports as required by subsurface intrusive investigation crews for the APSCI project office.
Role accountabilities:
Collection and field marking of utility locates Reviewing and interpretation of field data collected using geophysical methods Reviewing utility maps and reports as provided Preparation of locate reports Communicating with the staff responsible for the implementation of the subsurface intrusive program as part of the APSCI Port Hope project office Operate various types of geophysical equipment (provided and maintained by APSCI to locate and mark underground facilities within a specified work area for pre-engineering purposes. These utilities may include, gas, water, hydro/electrical, telecommunications, sewers, and other services of a private nature.In addition to the role accountabilities, the Utility Locate Technician will prepare reports that include sketches for field work completed and record all relevant information required to prepare a locate that will meet the minimum requirements set out under the Ontario Health and Safety Act rules and regulations. Other responsibilities may include assisting Engineers and Project Managers with the design and implementation of geo-environmental drilling and excavation programs. Complete assigned tasks independently utilizing APSCI/industry best practices and accepted techniques and methods. The Utility Locate Technician will exercise independent judgment and evaluation of field conditions through understanding of standard construction practices, demonstrate problem solving skills and communicate effectively with other team members. The successful candidate will also prepare basic written reports where required. In order to perform this role the candidate must have the ability to follow instructions, be capable of field work in urban and rural settings, be an independent problem solver, and pay attention to detail in reporting. The successful candidate must also have a valid driver's license and a vehicle for use as part of this work.
Qualifications & Experience:
0-4 years’ experience High School Diploma Must have valid Driver’s License A minimum of 5 years in Canada to be able to complete the Federal Background check Federal Security Clearance EligibilityPreferred Qualifications:
