We Are Seeking
Team Gilbert has an exciting opportunity for highly motivated professionals to fill two LTA* Utility Locator positions in our Public Works Water Department. *These are limited-term agreement (LTA) positions, eligible for renewal each fiscal year through the completion of the project.
The Utility Locator (LTA) reports to the Water Utility Supervisor. The primary job duties of this position include:
+ Performs journey-level operational activities, including identifying, locating, and marking all subsurface Gilbert-owned utilities (water, wastewater, sewer, reclaimed water, fiber optic, storm water, traffic signal, and electric)
+ Responsibilities include coordinating work with internal and external customers, operating complex instrumentation, and troubleshooting related complex operational issues.
+ Identify inconsistencies in the Geographic Information System and plan review.
+ Perform and enforce Arizona Revised Statutes Law.
+ Utilize Global Positioning equipment.
+ Confined space entry required.
+ Other duties assigned on occasion could include assisting another department on tasks that are part of this project.

LICENSING/CERTIFICATIONS:
+ Valid AZ Driver's License.
+ Arizona Department of Environmental Quality Grade I Water Distribution within one year of hire.

+ High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.).
+ Up to one year of specialized or technical training beyond high school.
+ Combination of training, education, and experience equivalent to at least three years of full-time employment in underground or utility construction-related work.
+ 3 years of experience interpreting project plans, blueprints, plant maps, as-builts, or related materials, using electronic locating equipment, working according to Arizona Revised Statutes Law.
+ Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.
These positions are At-Will position and FLSA Non-Exempt - eligible for overtime compensation.
