About the role

The Utility Operator is responsible for the proper operation and maintenance of the ash handling and metal recovery equipment in the Residue Storage and Processing Building (RSPB) area. In this role, you will perform routine operations/inspections of the ash and metal recovery equipment as well as routine housekeeping duties. This includes maintaining and cleaning all systems related to ash removal and conditioning, i.e., magnets, non-ferrous recovery, conveyors, etc.Other duties include: Responsible to ensure equipment is appropriately cleaned and maintained for effective operation of the system.Participate in boiler cleanings.Complete the required Reworld training for UO within the assigned timelines.Performing general housekeeping of work areas and assisting in routine maintenance as required.Additional duties as assigned to ensure safe and efficient facility operationsPosition Requirements:A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is preferred.Ability to read and interpret documents such as rules, technical procedures, operating and maintenance instructions, and other procedure manuals.Ability to log onto a computer and complete online assigned training.Physical Demand of the Role:Ability to walk, stand, sit, and climbAbility to lift/carry 50lbsAbility to work from heights and in confined spacesQualify to wear a full-face respirator Consistently work in various weather conditionsShift: This position works on a rotating 12-hour shift including weekends and some holidays. Overtime will be required.
