Job Description
The primary responsibility of the Utility Operator will be the welding and fabrication of metal parts as directed by the departmental supervisor. The Utility Operator will also be responsible for the timely reporting of materials used.
ResponsibilitiesInterpret mechanical drawings, including weld requirement symbolism.TIG weld and fabricate light gauge steel and aluminum to company standards.Proficiently use power brake, power shears, drill press, and other metal shop equipment such as air grinders, polishers, sanders, saws (both cold and band), and power and mechanical form benders.Operate (not program) CNC equipment.Perform basic numerical calculations.Read Shop Build Drawings, other mechanical drawings, and Work Orders.Use conventional and precision measuring instruments and tools.Work with existing jigs and templates to replicate existing fixtures.Work within allowed tolerances and maintain company quality standards.Complete Work Orders as assigned and on time to meet company production goals.Perform data entry functions for material used in the Manufacturing software system.Essential SkillsFabricationMIG weldingTIG weldingFlux core weldingAluminum weldingBlueprint readingPress brake operationSheet metal handlingGrindingStructural steel handlingAssemblyStainless steel handlingHand tool usageTape measure usagePower tool usageCNC operationAdditional Skills & QualificationsKnowledge of Bridgeport operation is a plus.Why Work Here?
