Job Title: Utility Operator

SHIFT-

Days: $18/hr

6:45 am-7:05 pm,

rotating two days on/ three days off and three days on/ two days off schedule

Nights: $20/hr

6:45 pm-7:05 am,

rotating two days on/ three days off and three days on/ two days off schedule

(This includes occasional weekend work)

Benefits of this schedule? More hours = more money. 70 additional days off a year vs a typical M-F position. (one week = 36 hours, the next week = 48 hours)

Job Description

As a general production, you will be responsible for assisting machine operators by moving boxes, unloading trucks, and performing other duties as assigned. You will read work orders or follow oral instructions to determine materials to be mixed for each run, load and unload materials, maintain and prepare packaging supplies, and package finished products according to customer specifications. You will also handle materials and inventory using a barcode scanner, assist with roll data entry and machine maintenance, and maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information.

ResponsibilitiesRead work orders or follow oral instructions to determine materials to be mixed for each run.Load and unload materials onto or from pallets, platforms, and shelves via forklift or by hand.Load resins into blenders, grinders, dryers, and hoppers by hand or vacuum system.Maintain and prepare packaging supplies.Package all finished products ensuring correct packaging material, labels, and details, per customer specification.Handle materials and inventory control using a barcode scanner.Assist operators with stringing lines and taking rolls off machines.Assist operators with roll data entry, roll changing, changing trim, mounting unwound rolls, cutovers, and cleaning the systems.Assist warehouse manager with monthly inventory.Maintain confidentiality of information such as formulas, supplier names, materials, process conditions, and set-up information.Perform other relevant duties as assigned.Essential SkillsReliability and strong attention to detail.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.Capability to take direction from multiple supervisors.High school diploma preferred but not required.Additional Skills & QualificationsNo prior manufacturing experience required.Experience in warehouse operations, packaging, labeling, and material handling is a plus.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

This position is in a manufacturing and production environment with clean room conditions. The dress code requires candidates to wear a hair net and hard hat, which are provided. Candidates with facial hair must also wear a beard guard. While there is a full clean room area requiring additional shoe covers and a smock, candidates will not be working in that specific area. The day shift runs from 6:45 am to 7:05 pm on a rotating schedule, and the night shift runs from 6:45 pm to 7:05 am on a similar rotating schedule.

The pay range for this position is $16.50 - $18.00
