Carlisle Construction Materials (CCM), a worldwide leading diversified manufacturer of premium building products and related technology, has immediate openings for full-time Utility Operators at the Greenville, Illinois facility.   If you have manufacturing experience and/or a stable work history, a safety 1st mindset, and work well in a group, you may be a good addition to our team.  

 

Primary Function:

Under crew leader/operator direction, perform a limited range of duties to process adhesive, thermoplastic, polyvinyl chloride or rubber-based accessory products. Duties may include limited machine operation, visual inspection for defects, repairing of defects, scrapping of defective material, operation of hoist and bridge crane, measuring and recording of dimensional information, packaging of product, labeling of finished goods, interface with bar code system, and assembly of packing boxes. Incumbent is involved in setup and changeover of limited types of equipment, preparation of product for transfer to subsequent steps in the operation, and is responsible for the safety, productivity and quality of the operation.

 

Job Responsibilities:

Under crew leader/operator direction -

Operate production machinery to maximize output of quality products. Retrieve and move materials into place as required. Perform a variety of tasks to maintain the proper flow of materials throughout the plant. Provide coverage for a variety of manufacturing processes/equipment. Follow production schedules, oral and published job instructions, specifications and prescribed procedures. Detect, rectify as able, and report faulty operations, defective materials, or unusual conditions. Observe prescribed safety regulations and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). Keep counts, tallies, and records as required. Perform various other related or associated duties as required or directed.

Physical Abilities and Core Requirements:
Including but not limited to:

Balance – to avoid falling into equipment. Stooping, crouching when threading equipment. Reaching to thread equipment. Reach to operate production equipment, vacuum hoses, hoist, and crane. Standing while operating equipment. Walk from one work area to another, walk to retrieve packaging supplies, walk while operating bridge crane. Pull adhesive products to thread equipment. Lift boxes of finished product, by hand and utilizing lifting devices, lift vacuum hoses. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Use fingers to operate bar code equipment, crane pendant, enter data into computer terminal, start new rolls, tear tape to secure product to core or separate tape products from poly backing. Must have ability to grasp to pick up products, use hand tools and make packaging boxes, grip vacuum wands Speech, hearing, sight required to complete job tasks. Able to listen to verbal instructions, hear horns and buzzers, respond to emergency drills. Ability to communicate effectively with leaders and coworkers Ability to comprehend and retain standard operating procedures. Ability to work overtime as required. Expectation to understand, participate in, and support company continuous improvement initiatives, with focus on developing a lean mindset.
