Summary This position is located in Facilities Management (FM), Office of Facilities Management and Reliability (OFMR). The incumbent for this position serves under the general supervision of the Building Manager. Responsibilities The USRO Supervisor is responsible for supervising and providing the full range of operations, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair and controls work. In this position, you will: Serve as a supervisor in any of the Zones located in the Washington, D. C. Area, although supervisors may devote differing portions of their time to the duties listed below, they must perform the full range of operations, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair and controls work. Plan, schedule, assign, evaluate and coordinate the work of leaders, mechanics, helpers, and intermediate level workers and coordinates, and inspects for approval, all repairs or maintenance required by other shops or contractors to heating, ventilating and air conditioning systems within assigned buildings. Continuously study operational procedures and policies to assure the most effective and efficient use of people, resources and energy. Assure the continuous operation and monitoring of the Direct Digital Control (DDC) System and assures that EPA regulations for refrigerant management are adhered to. Conditions of Employment Physical Requirements: This position requires the physical ability to perform moderately heavy work including lifting and carrying heavy objects up to 50 lbs.; work outside in all weather conditions with exposure to dirt, dust, pollen and insects; climb ladders and stairs; and stand and walk for extended periods. Additional Conditions of Employment: Must possess a current EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification. (You must submit a copy with your application) Must be available to work late shifts, weekends and holidays and is subject to being called in for emergencies to restore the Smithsonian Institution to normal operations.
