Utility Technician

As a member of the ESG Operations team, you will complete work orders related to the operations and maintenance of a municipal water distribution and sewer collections department.  A CDL is very helpful but not required.

As a part of the Collections team, you will be responsible for the basic installation, repair, and maintenance of sewer and storm water collection systems.  You will:

Lay pipe and ensure it is on the right grade and in the proper layer of gravelMake sure ditches are shored properly and safe to enterRepair broken lines, stubs and force mainsAdjust, raise and clean out manholes Landscape yards that have been destroyed by line installation and repairClear easements to provide easier access to the outfall linePartition off work areas with traffic signs, cones, and/or barricades; flag and direct traffic around work areas 

You will also have general housekeeping and grounds maintenance duties.  You will:

Clean rest rooms, offices and locker roomsWash down solids, algae accumulation on basinsClean oil and grease from equipmentPrepare the surfaces on equipment, structures and buildings for painting and paintsLandscape the grounds that surround the facilities to include cutting grass, trimming and pruning      

 

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED or the equivalent of specialized vocational trainingValid driver's license is required; a commercial driver’s license is preferredA minimum of one year of experience with labor, construction, heavy equipment or utility-related experience preferredDetail-oriented work style
