**Job Title: Utility Worker**
**Job Description**
The Utility Worker will be responsible for preparing products for dayshift use, monitoring the sifting and filling of Bagging Department storage tanks, and assisting the Furnace Operator with Grinding Department tasks. The role also includes daily plant housekeeping duties, requiring the use of dust particulate respirators during air wand blowdown of the plant site.
**Responsibilities**
+ Prepare products for dayshift use
+ Monitor sifting and filling of Bagging Department storage tanks
+ Assist Furnace Operator with Grinding Department tasks
+ Perform daily plant housekeeping
+ Use dust particulate respirator during air wand blowdown
+ Perform glass pile dressing and load cullet into plant shredder system
+ Remove contamination from glass pile to prevent equipment plug-up and quality issues, and report significant issues to management or lead operator
+ Operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner
+ Troubleshoot problems in raw material processing flow
+ Operate forklift safely
+ Monitor and coordinate bulk dust operations
+ Perform minor maintenance and greasing operations on plant equipment
+ Monitor dryer operations and gas rates to ensure efficient processing
**Essential Skills**
+ Ability to operate a forklift
+ Knowledge of raw material processing flow
+ Troubleshooting skills
+ Experience with general labor tasks
+ Ability to perform minor maintenance on plant equipment
+ Ability to use a dust particulate respirator
+ Capacity to lift up to 50 pounds
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Performs glass pile dressing and loads cullet into plant shredder system
+ Removes contamination revealed in glass pile to prevent equipment plug-up and quality issues
+ Reports significant issues to management or lead operator
+ Operates equipment in a safe and efficient manner
+ Knowledge of raw material processing flow and able to troubleshoot problems as they occur
+ Operates forklift in a safe manner
+ Monitors and coordinates bulk dust operations
+ Performs minor maintenance and greasing operations on plant equipment
+ Monitors dryer operations and gas rates to ensure the process is operating efficiently
+ Must be able to be medically certifiable to wear a respirator for this position
+ Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds

**Work Environment**
The work environment is a manufacturing setting. Workers must wear steel-toe shoes, hardhats, hearing protection, long pants, and Hi-Viz long sleeve shirts or jackets year-round. Gloves are required, and workers must be medically certifiable to wear a respirator. Prescription safety glasses or protective glasses worn over regular glasses are required. Workers cannot wear contact lenses.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of CANBY, Oregon.
