The Utility Worker I & II in Water Distribution reports to the Water Distribution Supervisor . The primary job duties of this position include: + Performs installation, maintenance, inspection and repair work on the water distribution system. + Operate a variety of equipment, machinery and tools used in department projects. + Perform technical duties locating underground water assets in public streets, alley, utility easements and right-of-way using GIS maps. + Responsible for completing vehicle inspection forms and daily work logs. + Operate heavy equipment including excavation equipment, backhoe and vac truck. + Subject to emergency call-out and must be able to work overtime; including nights, weekends, holidays and being on stand-by as required. + Understanding of a water distribution system. + Other duties as assigned.
