Compensation

Compensation includes a base salary of $85,500.00 - $128,300.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.

Job Description

The User Experience (UX) Architect II is responsible for envisioning, planning, and laying the UX groundwork for a family of Cox Automotive products. This includes creating or modifying design systems, establishing the rules and conventions of interaction within a product family, determining how new technologies are assimilated into the interface, and ensuring seamless design across related products and, when appropriate, across product families. 

They will coordinate across the UX department to conceive, coordinate, document, and evangelize user experience principles and standards company-wide.

They are able to articulate and execute a strategic vision through documentation, presentations, internal/external relationships, and prioritization.

This person is metric-sensitive and understands that success is based on meeting customer behavior and revenue goals. 

Their portfolio must demonstrate a depth of experience emphasizing user interface design for digital applications, including complex enterprise-level and data-driven websites and multi-screen applications, with mobile experience needed.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Develop a deep understanding of our target customers and business needs by participating in user research activities, including persona development and evangelism, heuristic evaluation, and usability reviews.Carry out an ongoing assessment of existing information architecture, content, and design to identify experience gaps and contradictions and remedy each as they are found.Plan, design, and guide the overall UX interaction design implementation across our various digital platforms to ensure a highly usable, familiar, seamless, and successful experience.Guide and collaborate with Interaction Designers to create complementary products that form a true product ecosystem.Create user stories and flow diagrams, and define information hierarchies.Protect the consistency of the overall user interface and ensure that individual components can be extended and reused.Collaborate with technical teams to determine data accessibility and understand technology constraints/advantages for the design structure to ensure UX patterns meet performance, scalability, and reliability goals.Examine web analytics to inform overall UX design strategy.Establish collaborative working relationships with product, design, content, and development team members to ensure we deliver highly usable products that generate positive business returns.Establish collaborative working relationships across the other UX organizations within Cox Automotive to create seamless experiences for our clients across a wide portfolio of products.Help facilitate the visual design and content of reusable components and the design system to ensure a familiar user experience.Based on research, identify opportunities to create business value and improve the user experience.Bring experience in designing for mobile devices. Responsive design experience is required.Champion user needs and product usability while balancing business and technical constraints.Articulate rationale behind decisions and how to prioritize interface features.Identify tools, templates, and techniques that evolve existing processes.

WHO YOU ARE

Required Qualifications:

2+ years of experience for UX Architect IIBachelor’s degree or comparable work experience (required)Excellent oral, written, and verbal communication skills, as well as interpersonal skillsMust be strong in user-centered design methods, techniques, and principles.Project experience in working with teams on large-scale, long-term projects.Proven ability (portfolio required) to produce user experience documentation:  storyboards, user scenarios/tasks, user flows, wireframes, prototypes, etc.Proficient in expert use of software tools: Axure, Figma, and MS Office applications.Must be able to lead and influence without direct authority.Must be interested in human beings, how they think, their behaviors and limitations.Ability to establish user experience methodology, processes, estimates, and deliverables.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Group facilitation experience is required.Ability to work on multiple projects with competing priorities simultaneously.Superb organizational skills with the ability to juggle multiple projects varying in size and complexity, prioritizing time and tasks as needed to meet aggressive deadlines.Be able to make intuitive leaps to appropriately hypothesize design solutions.Be able to understand the big picture along with expert attention to fine detail.Be able to convincingly articulate ideas and rationale.Able to deal with ambiguity.Knowledge of what’s possible in the digital space.Avid learner. Stays up to date on latest trends and research in product design, SEO, and web/mobile technologies.Must be able to work individually with minimal supervision/mentoring, and as a team.Ability to work across multiple internal business units and companies.
