UX Copywriter, Copy Strategy
Description We’re looking for a UX Copywriter who is excited to transform complex information into digestible and accessible customer-facing communications. The ideal candidate is an expert in product microcopy and can firmly ground their work in user experience expertise, best practices, customer data, brand guidelines, and more. They’re excited to dig deep into the Amazon Music customer journey and partner with UX Design, Product, and Growth Marketing leads to reach millions through clear, approachable, and educational copy. Key job responsibilities The key job responsibilities include, but are not limited to: - Distill complex products experiences down into digestible customer communications - Write clear, approachable, and educational microcopy that optimizes for user adoption and engagement - Collaborate closely with UX Design, Product, and Growth Marketing teams to iterate on copy based on feedback, new customer research, and/or changing business priorities - Track and document learnings from testing to be integrated into Copy Strategy team resources for scale A day in the life At Amazon Music, our Copy Strategy team thinks big, but loves little details. As a UX Copywriter, you’ll work cross-functionally to guide customers through the Amazon Music landscape. You will craft concise and approachable content that addresses pain points, highlights key product features, and instructs and educates at the right moments, ensuring tone of voice and brand standards are appropriate throughout. Basic Qualifications - Based in Los Angeles or Seattle - Highly proficient in English, with exceptional US-based grammar and copywriting skills - 5+ years of experience as a UX Copywriter or similar role in an agency or in-house setting, and a portfolio that reflects - Proven ability to write educational microcopy across product experiences, based on deep understanding of the customer journey, friction points, and desired customer outcome (e.g. User interfaces, error messages, onboarding flows) - Strong bias for action in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment with an ability to quickly pivot based on feedback, new customer data, and/or changing business priorities - Proven ability to make informed copy decisions and recommendations, backed up by expertise, best practices, testing/research, guidelines, and relevant frameworks - Ample experience cross-functionally collaborating with UX Design, Product, and Growth Marketing teams Preferred Qualifications - Experience creating/owning copy guidelines and other mechanisms for scale - Experience working with legal and localization teams (whose guidance impacts en-US copy) - Experience writing for a global audience Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace. The base pay for this position ranges from $106,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $184,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
