A great candidate would be a student enrolled in an HCI, Psychology, UX or relevant major, who is passionate about the various aspects of User Experience or User Interface Design and relevant methodologies. You will have the outstanding opportunity of joining the UX team and working with senior level professionals to learn and collaborate on designing user experiences.This position will report into the Sr Director, Head of Web Marketing.What you'll get to doAt Splunk, you get your chance to put your ideas into action in a fast paced environment. Intern responsibilities will include the following (based on skills and interest):Create wireframes for various page templates for the websiteDevelop user flows to help articulate screen flows and system requirementsBuild out user scenarios and identify key personas (creating personas may be applicable)Support end user research including usability testing, competitive analysis, customer interviews, behavioral insights and metrics analysis to inform designsAssimilate and report out on analyticsSupport UX activities in Design SprintsHelp produce UX guidelines for the web style guideCreate user interface prototypes when necessaryHelp support Customer Journey mapping activities including documenting outputs and flowsCollaborate with team members on UX outputs and designsPresent and communicate designs to peers and executivesOptimally communicate the user centered design processMust-have QualificationsActively pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related technical field, and strong record of academic achievement.At least one semester/quarter remaining to complete after the internship.Available to work 40 hours a week for 12 weeks.Nice-to-have QualificationsWe’ve taken special care to separate the must-have qualifications from the nice-to-haves. “Nice-to-have” means just that: Nice. Base Pay
SF Bay Area, Seattle Metro and New York City Metro Area
Base Pay: $36 per hour
California (excludes SF Bay Area), Washington (excludes Seattle Metro), Washington DC Metro, and Massachusetts
Base Pay: $32 per hour
All other cities and states excluding California, Washington, Massachusetts, New York City Metro Area and Washington DC Metro Area.
Base Pay: $30 per hour
Splunk provides flexibility and choice in the working arrangement for most roles, including remote and/or in-office roles. We have a market-based pay structure which varies by location. Please note that the base pay is a guideline and for candidates who receive an offer, the base pay will vary based on factors such as work location as set out above, as well as the knowledge, skills, year in school and experience of the candidate. In addition to base pay, this role may be eligible for benefits.
