Axos is looking for a UX Designer 1 to join our growing design team and contribute to both our Ft. Knox Design System and broader UX design initiatives. This is a great opportunity for an entry-level designer to gain hands-on experience in design systems and user experience design while working with cross-functional teams to build innovative financial technology solutions.You will be joining a collaborative, passionate, and innovative team of UX designers dedicated to building cutting-edge financial technology solutions. We place a strong emphasis on mentorship, collaboration, and continuous learning, working together to solve complex design challenges.
This position is on-site and located at our HQ in San Diego, CA.
Responsibilities:
Support the Ft. Knox Design System by contributing to the creation and maintenance of scalable, reusable design components, UX patterns, and interface guidelines
Collaborate closely with UX designers, product teams, and developers to ensure that the design system is consistent, innovative, and aligned with best practices
Assist in documenting design system guidelines and contributing to its evolution as a widely used resource across the organization
Partner with product and business teams to design and refine user experiences for enterprise applications, ensuring that customer needs and business goals are met
Contribute to user research activities such as competitive analysis, stakeholder interviews, and usability testing to inform design decisions
Help define and improve UX workflows and design processes for complex financial products
Support the implementation of enterprise design standards while ensuring that designs are both feasible and data driven
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in UX design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field is preferred, though relevant certifications or self-taught skills are also valued (bootcamps, online courses, etc.)0-2 years of experience in UX design, visual design, or a related field (internships, projects, or freelance experience encouraged)Proficiency in Figma (including component libraries, properties, auto-layout, and shared styles/variables)Basic knowledge of design systems, component-based design, and atomic design principlesStrong collaboration skills, with the ability to work with cross-functional teams in both design and developmentAttention to detail, ensuring pixel-perfect execution and high-quality outcomesUnderstanding of UX research methods, such as stakeholder interviews and usability testingKnowledge of front-end web development and responsive ui web development a plus but not requiredAxos Employee Benefits May Include:
