Your insights will directly influence product design, engineering decisions, and metrics for emerging audio and wearable technologies with our Enterprise client.
**UX Researcher – Human Perception & Audio Cognition**
**Seattle, WA (Onsite)**
**7 month contract**
This is a unique opportunity to contribute to an early-stage project that will shape the future of consumer audio products. You'll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, driving research outcomes that enhance product development. **Key Responsibilities:**
+ Develop and execute innovative research strategies to investigate human perception, cognition, and sensorimotor interactions with new technologies.
+ Design and conduct experiments using methodologies like psychophysics, expert reviews, and comfort research approaches.
+ Collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to turn research insights into actionable metrics that drive product development.
+ Conduct research on auditory scene analysis, threshold detection, and sensory systems related to novel hardware and software technologies.
+ Effectively communicate findings to cross-functional stakeholders, shaping product decisions throughout the design and development lifecycle.
**Qualifications:**
**Minimum Requirements:**
+ Advanced degree in Cognitive/Experimental Psychology, Cognitive Science, Psychoacoustics, Psychophysics, Human-Computer Interaction, or related fields.
+ 5+ years of experience in experimental design, psychophysics, behavioral analytics, and inferential statistics.
+ Strong background in human multisensory perception, cognition, and auditory scene analysis.
+ Proven experience conducting research for novel consumer products, particularly in wearable technology or audio perception.
+ Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate research into actionable insights for product development.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Experience with research across the full product lifecycle, especially in AR/VR/MR or wearable technologies.
+ Expertise in psychoacoustics, auditory cognition, and auditory scene analysis for consumer products.
+ Prior experience with research on visual and auditory perception within emerging technologies.
