UX/UI Designer - Remote

Description

We seek a talented UX/UI Designer to join a growing team of designers, researchers, and writers supporting clients in federal government. Through our work building and modernizing enterprise software applications, you will have the opportunity to design products that are simple, intuitive, and satisfying that ultimately help the federal government work better and deliver better services. 

 

As a UI/UX Designer, you will collaborate with product owners and researchers to discover and define product opportunities and then deliver solutions through iterative prototyping and testing. You will take designs from concepts and wireframes through high fidelity mockups and functional prototypes. You will generate ideas and explore possibilities, incorporating feedback, securing stakeholder buy-in, and working with development to ensure end products successfully implement designs that meet your users’ expectations. 

 

This position will be embedded in one of our projects in the federal healthcare IT industry, such as the US Department of Health and Human Services and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.  

Key Responsibilities  

Work to support the UX vision and strategy established by project leadership in alignment with business objectives. 

Build empathy with users by working consuming research insights and through participatory design to generate validated UX designs. 

Ideate to discover and develop designs and solve user experience problems as identified by your project team. 

Work as part of a team to create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups to describe, communicate, and test proposed user experiences. 

Review designs with quality assurance and development teams to answer questions and support successful implementation. 

Clearly communicate design process and rationale of decisions with internal and external stakeholders.  

Basic Qualifications  

Bachelor's degree in design, human computer interaction or related field. 

3+ years of applied UX design experience in the software industry. 

Candidate must reside in the US, be authorized to work in the U.S., and work must be performed in the US. 

Candidate must have resided in the U.S. 3 of the last 5 years. 

Candidate must be eligible for public trust. 

Preferred Qualifications  

Knowledge of WCAG 2.0 Level AA / Section 508 compliance preferred. 

10+ years of overall professional experience preferred. 

Knowledge of WCAG 2.0 Level AA / Section 508 compliance preferred.  

Experience in federal contracting or healthcare IT preferred. 

Active or past clearance to work with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services or the US Department of Health and Human Services. 

Professional Skills  

Able to provide and present a portfolio demonstrating your design process and deliverables. 

Complete tasks effectively and on schedule as part of a broader development team. 

Participate in an Agile process to learn quickly and iterate on your project's user experience. 

Able to work within a design system, style guides, content guides, and proven industry patterns to deliver UX. 

Create designs that are easy to use, accessible, and visually appealing to the user. 

Strong skills with creative tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud, and Sketch. 

Demonstrate excellent written, visual, and verbal communication. 

Ability to work successfully with a cross-functional, diverse, and distributed remote development team.

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.

The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is:

$69,862.00 - $118,765.00
