The Immunization Clinical unit within the Infectious Disease Epidemiology, Prevention and Control Division are looking to add a temporary Vaccine Access Planner to their team! This position provides project leadership and interdisciplinary planning, focusing on the successful implementation of a new initiative to train medical providers in motivational interviewing techniques to increase immunization rates. Additionally, it involves high-level planning for the immunization clinical unit, specifically regarding provider outreach and education for statewide immunization practices in Minnesota. The role includes developing and implementing a workplan for a new unit within the Vaccine Preventable Disease Section. It also serves as a key liaison between the unit and MDH legal partners, finance, contracts, and the state's medical provider community to ensure program coordination and complementarity. **This position has the option to telework, based on business needs and the manager's discretion to applicants who reside in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, North Dakota or South Dakota. Position locations will be determined by the top candidate and will be based out of one of the following MDH district office locations: St. Paul, St. Cloud, Duluth, Rochester, Marshall, Bemidji, Fergus.** **This is a temporary position with an anticipated end date of June 30, 2025.** **Minimum Qualifications** **The following minimum qualifications must clearly be demonstrated on the applicant's resume/application to be considered for this position:** Three (3) years of experience planning and implementing an immunization program. **Minimum qualifications to be assessed at the time of interview:** + Ability to conceptualize alternative solutions to complex issues and convey them to diverse audiences based on identification and evaluation of information/data and then develop policy and program management recommendations. + Ability to communicate orally, sufficient to lead discussions and present plans and data relating to a specific area of knowledge. + Ability to write, edit and organize material from diverse sources to prepare and implement comprehensive work plans for public health programs. **Degree Equivalencies:** + Associate degree in Public Health, Health Policy, Social Work or closely related field of study will count towards six (6) months of experience. + Bachelor's Degree in Public Health, Health Policy, Social Work or closely related field of study will count towards one (1) year of experience. + Master's Degree in Public Health, Health Policy, Social Work or closely related field of study will count towards eighteen (18) months of experience. + Doctorate degree in Public Health, Health Policy, Social Work or closely related field of study will count towards two (2) years of experience. **Preferred Qualifications** + Working knowledge of immunization principles + Knowlege of motivational interviewing techniques + Skilled in strategic planning sufficient to facilitate strategy workshops + Knowledge of planning principles, methods, and techniques sufficient to develop major statewide plans + Knowledge of techniques and media sufficient to select appropriate methods to promote public health issues and programs to health care providers and public health professionals involved in primary care delivery to adolescent and adults, which includes providing immunizations + Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships and provide leadership to health care professional groups, colleagues, community organizations, and state and national level coalitions and organizations so that relevant departmental goals and objectives are met **Additional Requirements** + Successful completion of a background check and employment reference check. + This employment does not require a valid driver's license, but it does demand travel, which the candidate is responsible for meeting.
