Valet Attendant

POSITION OVERVIEW

The primary responsibility of the Valet Attendant is to park or retrieve guests’ vehicles in a timely manner ensuring the utmost in vehicle safety. Anticipate guests needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, no matter how busy or time of day. Maintain positive guest relations at all times. 


RESPONSIBILITIES

Greet and welcome guests and visitors to the hotel

Greet visitors and guests on departure, wishing them a pleasant journey

Relieve guests of their luggage on arrival/departure, store it and log it if a porter is not available

Handle all guests requests, queries, comments and complaints in a courteous and prompt manner, taking the necessary action steps and ensuring follow through where required

Open cars/taxis doors arriving at the hotel and give help to people in need

Remove all items of luggage from the vehicle of the guest and coordinate the delivery of guest luggage into the hotel

Escort guest into the lobby and to the reception desk, and to deposit the luggage in the luggage room or escort to guest suite

To call taxis for guests and visitors, to open doors as appropriate and to give directions as required

To park guest cars in the hotels allocated car parking spaces, as needed

To direct traffic on the hotel’s street facing exterior when needed to ensure that the street and entrance are not obstructed in any way

Greet and welcome guests with the appropriate greeting of the day and direct them personally into the hotel

Whilst accompanying guests, to promote hotel services and facilities, such as restaurants, hotel facilities or other special promotions at the time

Assist the Guest Services Team behind the desk as necessary in answering phones while performing front office duties and provide an efficient and friendly service to our guests

Ensure guest satisfaction by performing such duties as attending to their requests and inquiries courteously and efficiently, and accepting changes or additions in work hours, which are necessary for the maintenance of uninterrupted service to hotel guests and patrons

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Formal Training

High School diploma or equivalent

Experience

1 year of experience in customer service or similar role.

Clean driving record.

Must be able to work varied shifts, to include weekends and holidays.

Knowledge/Skills

Must have general knowledge of basic customer service skills and be fluent in oral and written English.

Must have knowledge of local establishments, businesses and the surrounding community in general.

Must be able to drive automatic and manual vehicles. 

Must have a valid driver’s license.
