Value Analysis Specialist

The Value Analysis Specialist works with all Network entities in development and implementation strategies for value-based supply standardization, utilization, and optimization initiatives. Responsible for functioning as an effective resource between Materials Management, clinicians, and administrators of the St. Luke’s University Health Network. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: + Coordinates product/equipment evaluations throughout the Network involving vendors, clinical end users, educators, infection prevention, biomed, and other key stakeholders. Ensures the capture of evaluation data, aggregates, and presents results. + Performs research on products/services with focus on evidenced-based information to ensure quality and clinical efficacy to improve patient experience and outcomes. + Effectively utilizes clinical evidence documents, evaluation results, and detailed financial analyses including pricing comparison, distribution, and inventory control for assigned projects and incorporates information into VAC meetings and presentations. + Utilizing the Network selected Value Analysis program/database, effectively manages value analysis daily operations and new product requests in alignment with network and department objectives. + Prepares product research, financial, and clinical outcomes analyses to support the VAC’s in selecting and optimizing cost-effective, quality products, equipment, and technologies. + Prepares accurate and timely reports related to initiatives brought into the Value Analysis process. + Facilitates and ensures effective and timely communications with all internal and external stakeholders engaged in supply chain activities including physician leadership, consultants and vendors, group purchasing organizations, inventory control and distribution, materials management team, and staff of all levels. + Researches and analyzes statistical data, conducts interviews/discussions with vendors and network product end-users, and reviews educational resources to keep abreast of technology changes and innovations. + Routinely meets with Purchasing Service Line Managers to discuss and collaborate on new product assessments, contracting initiatives, and ongoing projects. + Aligns activities with Managers and Directors in order to achieve goals set forth by the Vice President of Materials Management. PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS: Sitting for up to 8 hours per day, 4 hours at a time. Frequently uses fingers for data entry, etc. Frequently uses hands for filing, telephone and loading printers with paper. Uses upper extremities to lift up to 30 pounds. Stoops, bends or reaches above shoulder level. Hearing as it relates to normal and phone conversations. Seeing as it relates to general vision, near vision, peripheral vision and visual monotony. EDUCATION Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred. TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Clinical Informatics /Value Analysis analytic expertise required. Three to five years of progressively responsible experience in healthcare materials management and/or value analysis. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required (Word, Outlook, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, or similar collaborative platform). Experience in cost containment and expense management activities. Training and experience in data collection and analysis, and project management. HOURS: Mon-Fri, no nights, no weekends, no holidays, flexible daytime hours, based out of St. Luke's Center in Allentown, PA. Hybrid remote available for local (PA, NJ) candidates, flexibility with office, campus location and remote is required.
