Our brands are synonymous with quality, integrity, and trust in the plumbing industry. **What we’re looking for…** The Value Engineering Project Engineer I is responsible for managing Value Engineering projects and executing them on-time and within budget; identifies and designs solutions for both manufacturing/distribution process and product design improvement opportunities; designs and conducts experiments to validate product and process improvements; conduct process capability studies; generate specifications and update obsolete and inaccurate specifications, update BOMs and routings; develop Wrike project tasks and timelines; generate cost saving projections and MvB analysis, provide feedback to key stakeholders and communicate project status to Management, New Product Development, Marketing and Sales, Quality, Manufacturing, Sourcing, Finance and Demand Planning. **Expectations & Accountabilities …** + Lead Value Engineering projects to on-time completion and ensure accurate communication of project requirements and updates to Management, New Product Development, Marketing and Sales, Finance, Quality, Manufacturing, Sourcing, and Demand Planning. Generate cost saving projections and MvB analysis. Develop charters and Wrike plans and follow-though on the execution of Wrike tasks to ensure that Wrike timeline targets are up to date. Follow-up Wrike tasks assigned to others to ensure timely completion of projects. Update the VE Dashboard weekly. 50% + Utilize the tools of Lean Six Sigma to improve processes. Design, execute, and document experiments to validate designs and process improvements, identify project materials and tooling needed, obtaining quotations for capital and expenses, and work with vendors on identified and chartered projects. Recommend process, product, and packaging improvements to improve efficiencies or reduce costs. Utilize Design, Data Collection, and other VE forms and methodologies to minimize waste and ensure lean execution of projects. Act as a project team leader to manage production trials, troubleshoot issues, and prepare all documentation including ECRs, SOPS, purchase requisitions, and product specifications, BOMs, routings, and packaging and labeling requirements. 30% + Generate, update, and improve labels, carton, product and purchasing prints and specifications for chemical and mechanical product families. Generate and approve SolidWorks files using approved templates and formats, save in the vault and create PDFs. 10% + Function as a mentor to other VE team members, interns, etc. 5% + Other duties and projects as assigned by supervisor. 5% **What you’ll need to be successful…** + Minimum two (2) years’ experience in Engineering. + Strong Core Skills - Project Management, Value Engineering methods, BOM and routings setup, make vs buy analysis, Lean Six Sigma. + Attention to detail without becoming lost in the details-depth, emotional intelligence, behavioral maturity, demonstrated trust and integrity, high ethical standards, interpersonal competence, and the ability to prevent, reduce and resolve conflict. + Exceptional communication skills - verbal, written and executive presentations. Able to synthesize a multitude of issues into a clear, concise, and focused message. Make presentations with confidence and brevity. + In-depth written and oral communication skills; stand-up presentation and training skills. + Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and generate results. + PC Computer Proficiency: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. + SolidWorks training and experience. + Engineering degree (Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, Material Science, etc.) or Management degree, or equivalent relevant experience in lieu of degree. **Qualifications that will set you apart….** + Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt. + ERP software usage + Minitab experience + Product validation/testing experience At Oatey we are committed to help our Associates grow their career.
