Value Stream Manager
GKN Automotive
**Key Responsibilities**
o Ensure Value Streams operate safely for all employees.
o Implement Leadership Ways of Working (including systematic Gemba Walk and Constructive
Feedback/Recognition).
o Understand GKN Driveline, Regional, and local objectives and integrate to long and short-term plans
for the Value Streams.
o Lead by example and champion a culture of Diversity, Inclusion, Engagement, and Employee
Involvement, following the GKN values and behaviors.
o Lead and align value stream-based functions to focus on value stream goals. Align operation and
function leaders within the value streams.
o Champion the use of lean tools to achieve the goals of the value stream through improving flow and
removing waste (non-value add).
o Ensure compliance to internal and external accreditation standards (including IATF and internal
DES standards).
o Ensure compliance to local and GKN business policies.
o Work with Human Resources to cultivate a development plan for value stream employees (Talent Review and Succession Planning).
o Promote a culture of Cost Leadership
o Take ownership for the value streams budget and financial performance.
**People Management:**
o Develop a diverse and inclusive team aligned to GKN philosophy.
o Motivate team by setting challenging and achievable goals. Communicate business strategy and
update team on the roadmap to excellence.
o Create a culture of Engagement where all employees have the tools they need to do their job well
and have the opportunity to contribute to improvement through employee involvement.
**Formal Qualifications**
Essential
-Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
Desirable
-3 years of experience as member of a site leadership team in Automotive Manufacturing
-Graduate of a Lean training program (MCIL/SCIL/BPE/PMCIL) **Specific Functional Capabilities, Knowledge and Skills Required**
