Value Stream Senior Manager

Job Overview

The Value Stream Senior Manager is responsible for overseeing the performance and success of assigned Value Streams, prioritizing Safety, Law, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SLQDC). This role ensures the effective management of resources, fosters collaboration across departments, and drives continuous improvement using Lean Manufacturing and Visual Factory principles. The position requires strategic leadership, a commitment to customer satisfaction, and a focus on optimizing production processes and team development.

Key Job Responsibilities

Champion a Zero Harm safety culture by ensuring proactive safety measures and compliance with safety regulations.

Lead a cross-functional matrix team, including Production Planners, Supervisors, Engineers, Safety, and Quality, to meet Value Stream objectives.

Drive collaboration across functional groups and promote teamwork within and beyond the Value Stream.

Implement Lean Manufacturing principles to achieve SLQDC goals and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Develop and maintain Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to monitor and improve Value Stream performance, using structured problem-solving methods.

Manage production schedules, material requirements, and staffing to ensure on-time delivery and quality standards.

Administer union labor agreements and resolve grievances pragmatically and fairly.

Oversee capital expenditure projects, ensuring adherence to schedules and budgets while achieving safety, quality, delivery, and cost improvements.

Ensure master data accuracy in the ERP system and manage engineering and process changes.

Qualifications/Requirements

Associate or Bachelor’s degree required, with at least 10 years of related manufacturing experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Minimum of 5 years of progressive production experience, including supervisory or managerial roles.

Proficiency in interpreting technical documents, engineering drawings, and structured bills of materials.

Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement principles.

Experience with ERP systems, project management tools, and financial business planning.

Demonstrated ability to lead, inspire, and develop cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.

Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills with a focus on results and customer satisfaction.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience managing unionized workforces and addressing labor-related challenges.

Background in safety and environmental risk assessment, accident investigation, and safety improvement activities.

Advanced understanding of business finance and budget management.

Proven track record of driving successful New Product Development and Introduction (NPD/NPI) initiatives.
