ROLE SUMMARY: The Assembly Production Supervisor (Process Engineering) role is responsible for direct activities within the operations team as it related to production, Continuous Improvement Projects (CIP), site 6S, improved efficiency and utilization, cost reduction, and capital investment for both functional and transactional processes. This role will promote a safe work environment by focusing on improvements that will enhance the safety and wellbeing of our employees while driving increased throughput and reduced quality errors. The Assembly Production Supervisor (Process Engineer) will become a champion in our Operational Excellence (OPEX) programs and lead teams in daily management, problem solving, materials and strategic deployment projects and activities. This role comes with high visibility from site leadership and support to make the facility best in class in manufacturing.
Work schedule: First shift, Monday to Friday from 7 am to 3:30 pm.
Location: Springville, UT.
Minimal travel <10% will be required for training, shared knowledge experiences and cross functional projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Actively support the development of a vibrant Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) culture across the site by expanding 6S practices. Support the growth of HSE programs, execute improvement activities, and facilitate cultural change to drive achievement of all HSE objectives.Evaluate production processes to determine best practices and areas for improvement to be actioned with support of the production and operations teams.Identify process bottlenecks and actions solutions to resolve.Management of KPIs (utilization, efficiency, productivity, scrap, rework).Lead efforts to improve productivity while driving process and product defects out of the daily work activities in assembly.Participate in the Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) processes and engagement in collaboration with the Quality Team.Standardization of processes throughout the assembly process., working with process engineering and assembly leads.Drive the deployment of Lean and OPEX principles to continually analyze and improve all internal processes and controls to drive waste out of the system, shorten order shipment lead-times, and deliver greater value to customers.Ensure the assembly team is utilizing OPEX training and fostering a Lean culture through on-going OPEX projects, problem solving methods, and daily work management systems.Demonstrate unwavering commitment to the Flowserve Values and Behaviors, driving a culture of high-performance in the way we think, act, and operate. Bachelor’s degree in an engineering, preferably in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering or Quality Engineering.Strong root cause problem solving and analytical skills according the DMAIC framework or similar, with demonstrated ability to make critical decisions and sustainable improvements.Strong communication skills (verbal, written, and public speaking)Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, with ability to listen, understand and lead others.CIP Green/Black belt training and/or Lean/Six Sigma Manufacturing experienceDemonstrated ability to motivate, inspire teamwork, and to consistently acknowledge contributions by others.Minimal travel <10% will be required for training, shared knowledge experiences and cross functional projects.PREFERRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:
