Vascular Neurologist with Teaching Responsibilities
Job Details

ChristianaCare, a nationally recognized leader in healthcare, is actively recruiting a BE/BC Vascular Neurologist to join our well-established, physician-led practice. As we are preparing to establish a Neurology residency program within the next 5 years, candidates with enthusiasm for teaching and an interest in building a residency program will be highly favored. Leadership roles are available for qualified candidates eager to take on additional responsibilities.

This individual will join a team of 10 Vascular Neurologists and Neurohospitalists overseeing acute stroke care and general consults at ChristianaCare. Separate services exist for consultative work, including acute stroke management, a primary stroke service, and a stroke follow-up clinic. In-person work is at the Newark and Wilmington campuses. We have developed a robust internal tele-network to cover all acute strokes across our system to ensure exceptional care. As our system expands and patient needs increase, we are moving to an overnight virtual shift-based model to ensure physicians are well-rested to provide exceptional care and improve work-life balance.

The ChristianaCare Newark campus is the only Comprehensive Stroke Center in the state of Delaware, having been awarded all of the highest possible awards by the American Heart Association for the past 5+ years. The Wilmington campus is recognized as a Primary Stroke Center. Our program includes a dedicated Neurointensive Care Unit staffed by neurocritical care physicians, a transitional Neuro Unit, the only epilepsy monitoring unit in the state, as well as acute inpatient beds staffed by neuro-trained nurses and allied health specialists. Our hospital-based team is supported by 18 subspecialty trained physicians, including those trained in epilepsy, movement disorders, neuromuscular, neuro-ophthalmology, headache, and autoimmune neurology.

The candidate must have an M.D., D.O. or equivalent, and BE/BC Neurology; BE/BC Vascular Neurology preferred. The candidate must have strong clinical skills, enthusiasm for teaching, and experience working with a diverse population of patients is preferred.
