Job Title: Vascular Surgeon

Introduction: Aspen Medical has an exciting opportunity for Vascular Surgeons to partner with us in providing temporary contracted medical services within the Veteran Affairs Healthcare Systems throughout the United States. Today’s posting will place you at the primary location of the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center. Qualifications:
Education
+ Degree of Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed
+ Physicians must have completed residency training, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in Vascular Surgery in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification
Board Certification
+ Completion of an accredited vascular surgery program in the United States and be board certified in vascular surgery
License
+ Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia. Must be board-certified to qualify
+ DEA License Required
+ NPI Required
Experience
+ Minimum of two (2) years of current experience, actively practicing in specialty, post-board certification
Certification
+ Current, valid American Heart Association (AHA) BLS and ACLS required

+ Variable of locations throughout the United States.
+ Contract: Year-long assignment
+ Hours of Performance: Duty hours will vary by position and location; however, typical duty hours are scheduled between 0700 -1700, Monday through Friday. Hours are subject to change and may include nights and weekends
+ Detailed pay rates will be outlined in the initial interview phase
Physical Requirements:
+ Must be able to walk, stand, and bend for 6-8 hours per day
+ Able to distinguish between basic colors
+ Must be able to read and interpret handwritten and typewritten print
+ Ability to communicate effectively with customers in stressful situations
+ Must be able to pass a criminal background investigation and undergo urine drug testing
+ Advanced medical and anatomical skills
+ Knowledge of general surgery practices
+ Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
+ Strong motor skills and manual dexterity
+ Ability to work long and irregular hours
+ Advanced analytical skills and attention to detail
+ Ability to remain calm and focused on stressful situations
+ Organizational and time management skills
