**Employment Type:** Full time **Shift:** **Description:** Shift Hours: Mon - Fri ****This position is eligible for relocation and/or housing stipend OR up to $25,000 educational reimbursement **** Responsibilities - Performs Ultrasound procedures on scheduled shifts including emergency callback, operating ultrasound equipment. - Provides patient/family or caregiver education and counseling in recognition and solution of physical, emotional, and environmental health problems. - Instructs, supervises, and evaluates student technologists. - Mentor and resource for other Sonographers. - Promotes professionalism with the department, hospital, and community; acts as a role model. - Demonstrates proficiency in performing all exams according to protocol. Maintains the physical environment of the department in a clean, well-stocked, orderly manner. - Operates equipment in a safe and efficient manner, reporting any malfunctions to manager/Bio-med. - Manages and coordinates the activities of the Ultrasound Department with other areas of the department and hospital to insure and maintain patient care. - Attends hospital and department meetings and in-services. - Complies with OSHA/JCAHO and other regulatory agency recommendations and guidelines. - Performs high-level disinfection of reusable items such as transducers per the manufacturer’s recommendations. Qualifications + Successful completion of an accredited two-year Noninvasive Vascular Technology training program. + ARDMS registry as a Vascular Technologist. Maintains active registry status with ARDMS. + 2 or more years’ experience at Mercy Medical Center as a Vascular Sonographer or 3 years VascularSonography experience + Basic Life Support (BLS) for the Healthcare Provider certified or obtained within three (3) months of hire. + Acceptable credentialing bodies and certification include American Red Cross CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer and American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers. + Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training specific to population served within three (3)months of hire. + Handle charge responsibilities as needed. + No formal disciplinary actions in file in the last 12 months. + Actively supportive of management staff and Mercy initiatives. **Our Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion** Trinity Health is one of the largest not-for-profit, Catholic healthcare systems in the nation.
