Summary

Coordinates and assists in all activities performed in the vascular laboratory. Operates Ultrasound equipment to perform a variety of vascular imaging procedures as indicated by physician orders and protocols. Maintains quality assurance logs, updates policies and procedures, and maintains requirements as indicated for IAC and ACR accreditations. Attends to direct and indirect patient care needs to ensure successful completion of requested imaging procedures.

Responsibilities

Performs a variety of vascular ultrasound proceduresProduces clear and undistorted images as indicated per established protocolsIdentifies and visualizes all necessary anatomy, measurements and correctly labels structures.Documents patient information, test results and measurements accuratelyRecognizes normal and abnormal vascular anatomy and physiology and reports critical values and abnormal findings per established policy and proceduresUtilizes 2-Dimensional, M-Mode, color flow and Doppler imaging techniques when indicatedAbnormal patient findings are immediately reported to the RadiologistAssures correct patient information on requests, reports and PACSMonitors equipment and department suppliesOrganizes work area and maintains supplies

Education / Experience

Include minimum education, technical training, and/or experience required to perform the job.

AA Degree requiredGraduate of an accredited program for Ultrasonography requiredActive member of the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) with RVT certification or a registered vascular specialist by CCICurrent American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider required1-year clinical settingStrong proficiency in computer-based programs such as MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)Ability to work well with other team members and consultants in remote offices as well as independentlyWillingness to be flexible and adaptable in a complex, matrix environment
