JOB SUMMARY
The Vascular Sonographer functions as a member of the healthcare team by providing patient care services using ultrasound and related diagnostic procedures to assist in the diagnosis of medical conditions. The individual functions as a delegated agent under the supervision of the physician and completes procedures in a manner consistent with Marshfield Clinic Health Systems’ (MCHS) mission, policies, and initiatives while maintaining patient confidentiality.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.
Minimum Required: One of the Following:
Associate degree or technical diploma in a related health care program.One year of experience as a vascular, cardiac or general sonographer.Preferred/Optional: Associate degree in ultrasonography, registered in cardiac and vascular sonography thru ARDMS or CCI and experience in cardiac and vascular ultrasound.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum Required: Patient care experience.
Preferred/Optional: One year experience as a vascular sonographer.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES
The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position. Licenses with restrictions are subject to review to determine if restrictions are substantially related to the position.
Minimum Required:
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of hire.Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) certification obtained through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or CCI within two years’ of hire.Preferred/Optional:
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) at time of hire.Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) certification obtained through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or CCI at time of hire.On call
