You will:
Foster an operational culture founded on adherence to all applicable HSE and other corporate policies, procedures and guidelines Support Agronomists in field related activities as directed at the Woodland, California production site Participate in accurate and timely crop scouting and data collection of emergence and vegetative growth stages, pollination dates, stand counts, and IPM scouting thresholds Perform activities related to planting, scouting, weed and insect management, rouging, safety, training, harvesting, and reporting at the site Perform a project to study a potential production improvement. Present findings to the field production team in Woodland, California Ensure all clean-downs and changeovers are done correctly to eliminate any product mixture Actively support an image that reflects the highest regard for cleanliness and organization Perform other duties as required to meet field operation needsCompany Description

To support that challenge, the Seeds Production team is currently seeking a Vegetable Seeds Production Intern in Woodland, CA. The purpose of this role is to introduce the intern to the seed production operation, gaining experience by taking responsibility for selected field production operations in support of the production of a reliable supply of high-quality seed. The intern will take on several roles based upon field production practices, plant processing requirements and distribution needs.

Qualifications
What you must have:
A High School Diploma or equivalent Enrollment in a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in an applicable discipline (Agronomy, Plant Science, Ag Business, or another closely related major is preferred)What you might also contribute to the team:
Prefer a student with a Sophomore or Junior class standing Bilingual (English and Spanish) would be ideal but not required Excellent communication skills to work well with co-workers in field production management Self-motivated, need little supervision The ability to communicate information (written and spoken) is highly desired in this position Trusted - Will need to make good sound judgment calls in regards to seed quality management that will be for the best interest of the company Excellent computer skills including proficiencies in both Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Microsoft Word Innovative - To always look to implement new procedures or technologies to improve work efficiencies Detail/Accuracy Oriented - All procedures and policies must be understood and followed.
