We are currently looking to add a dynamic UVM Technician to our passionate team of environmental professionals.
Job DutiesThe Utility Vegetation Management (UVM) Technician will inspect distribution utility right-of-ways and access to Right-of-Way (ROW) areas, for compliance with state clearance standards. Identify needed tree and brush control work and provide info to line-clearance crews. Document work using hand-held computer. Notify property owners of pending work on their property. Audit work completed by contractors. Discuss and negotiate line-clearance crew access issues. Special projects as assigned. Must be willing to work nights, weekends, holidays and storms as needed.
QualificationsEducation and Qualifications:
An individual must be able to perform each essential job duty consistently and satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Professional or Collegiate Practical Tree Work Experience (including Collegiate Climbing Classes, Forestry Club Operations, Production Climber, Groundsman, or Lift Operator, etc). Proficiency with local Tree Identification and Tree Physiology. ISA Certified Arborist or ability to obtain in 6-12 months. Commercial Pesticide Applicator’s License. Current Driver’s License and Driving Record in good standing. Proficient working knowledge of computers. Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint. Additional InformationWhat We Offer:*

DUTIES:
Generate work requests and facilitate employee work planning Be an integral part of day to day operations Follow pre-established procedures and guidelines Gather, review and relay data, trends and information to clients, management and staff Run reports, query and analyze existing database for outliers, customer information and productivity Summarize large amounts of information into concise deliverables Update project dates and status Identify schedule attainment goals, track schedule and productivity and manage project deadlines Support client with any additional clerical dutiesDESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
3 years of Vegetation Management experience in Utility Line Clearance Knowledge of tree work scheduling and processes Strong skills in Windows and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook) and basic computer applications Impeccable organization and planning skills and attention to detail Excellent communication and writing skills Ability to problem solve and adapt and overcome obstacles Strong ability to multitask in a fast paced and dynamic environment Great people skills, willingness and desire to assist employees and clients Flexibility and open to possibility of overtime and working outside regular scheduleWHAT WE OFFER:
