Vegetation Planner
**Description** Vegetation Planner **Job Description:** + Inspect and assess vegetation in the right-of-ways for compliance standards and construction work plans + Communicate the reasons and benefits of utility vegetation line clearance to property owners + Notify property owners of vegetation clearance work to be performed + Assist with permitting for DOT, railroads, and municipalities etc. + Travel to assist across all regions + Handle customer complaints related to the scheduled work and/or completed pruning + Check trees for hazard or danger potential + Communicate daily with the foresters, contractors, and general public + Document information for vegetation management program using GIS based software + Perform duties in a manner that will promote and maintain good public relations + Assume other duties and responsibilities as assigned **Job Qualifications:** Candidate(s) will be required to meet the following requirements: + Must have solid tree identification skills and ability to read maps + Must have exceptional written and verbal communication skills, strong problem solving abilities, the ability to multi-task and attention to detail + Must be able to work alone, outdoors in various weather conditions and terrain + Experience working with data collection devices and GIS software + Bachelors or Associates in Forestry, Arboriculture or Horticulture a plus + Inventory or surveying experience a plus + ISA Certified Arborist qualification or able to obtain within 6 months + Safe driving history + Able to operate 4x4 vehicle + Must be able to work alone in an outdoor field environment; vehicle and foot patrol of utility transmission power lines; remote locations as well as urban, city environment; physical demand and travel from site to site.
