Overview TRC Companies, Inc., a pioneer in groundbreaking scientific and engineering developments since the 1960s, is a national engineering and environmental consulting firm that provides integrated services to the energy, environmental, and infrastructure markets. TRC has openings for a Vegetation Planning Specialist. There is flexibility to work from various locations in Texas, Michigan, and Illinois, however some travel to specific job sites within these states is required. Responsibilities Responsibilities: Project Setup: Set up new projects on the work planning platform or geospatial platform. Populate the platform with all necessary information. Annual Plan Development: Develop comprehensive annual work plans, including schedules for mowing, herbicide application, and other maintenance activities. Ensure the plans are aligned with budget constraints. Service Provider Coordination: Establish and maintain a rapport with service providers. Conduct onboarding and training sessions for service providers, covering safety, environmental constraints, and other relevant topics. Field Work: Conduct site visits to plan and audit work, ensuring compliance with the work plan. Perform monitoring inspections to capture vegetation conditions and measure progress. Address any issues that arise on-site and provide problem-solving support. Administrative Tasks: Review and update work plans based on audit results and site conditions. Perform administrative tasks related to project documentation and reporting. Respond to queries from site managers, service providers, and other stakeholders. Communication and Reporting: Serve as a point of contact for site managers and service providers. Provide regular updates and reports on project progress and compliance. Maintain accurate records and documentation. Qualifications Qualifications: Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in environmental science, forestry, agriculture, or a related field. Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in vegetation management, work planning, or a related field. Technical Skills: Proficiency in using GIS and geospatial platforms for work planning. Strong understanding of vegetation management practices, including mowing, herbicide application, and monitoring. Ability to identify plant species and understand ecological principles. Comprehensive knowledge of vegetation communities in the Great Lakes and Texas. Preferred experience implementing IVM plans and improving maintenance timelines. Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to establish and maintain relationships with site managers and service providers. Ability to train and onboard service providers effectively. Problem-Solving Skills: Strong problem-solving skills to address issues that arise on-site and provide effective solutions. Ability to work independently and make informed decisions. Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously. Ability to perform administrative tasks accurately and efficiently. Travel Requirements: Willingness to travel to various project sites as needed. Ability to manage a broad geographic region and multiple projects. Additional Qualifications: Experience with work planning for utilities or similar industries is highly preferred. Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors. Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company’s annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
